So, we left Alabama this morning, and drove through Mississippi and into Louisiana (152 miles). We arrived here around 11am and parked the car at the Hotel (which is 2 blocks from Bourbon Street), then walked through the French Quarter. Or maybe I should tell the truth: We ATE our way through the French Quarter! But that was the reason for our stay here, so there is really no reason to pretend otherwise. Lunch was at "Bubba Gump" - not just because it seems to be Patrick's favorite movie, but also because they have good Seafood Etouffe. Of course we had the beignets at "Cafe Du Monde", no visit to New Orleans would be complete without it. We had dinner at "Bourbon House". And in between stuffing our faces with Louisiana food, we also had time (imagine that!) to walk around the French Quarter and see St. John's Cathedral. So now we're all tired from the heat (and maybe all the food?) and we'll call it a day.
Heute morgen sind wir nach dem Fruehstueck abgefahren. Von Alabama ging's erst durch Mississippi, und dann nach Louisiana (152 Meilen). Wir sind so gegen 11 Uhr in New Orleans angekommen, haben das Auto in der Hotel Garage geparkt und sind dann durch das French Quarter gelaufen. Wir sind nach New Orleans wegen dem Essen gekommen und haben auch wirklich viel gegessen. Zwischen den Mahlzeiten haben wir uns die verschiedenen Sehenswuerdigkeiten hier angeschaut und waren auch wieder in der St. John's Cathedral, einer schoenen alten Kirche. Es war heute 34 Grad warm und nach dem vielen Laufen (und Essen!) sind wir Beide sehr muede.
